Murray's Story...
I’m Murray, 100% grade A adorable little mutt. You may have read my pal Mikey’s description…and it probably sounds a lot like mine. I’m just going to borrow some bits since we are buddies and have so darn much in common, I mean we’re like BFF’s. Hope you don’t mind. I’m a young man who could use some more training and some more socialization too. I’m a friendly and affectionate dude once I get to know you, I just need a little time to warm up. This rescue stuff is hard on a young man! Found as a stray, bounced from here to there…I could really use a calm place to just chill and find my bearings. I’d love to find a family where all members are mature and respectful. I am not interested in sharing my home with real young kids, but I just love to play with other dogs, that’s for sure! I promise to make a fabulous companion, I just need a devoted person ready to put in equal parts time and love! 1 year old-8lbs. My adoption fee is $200 and includes; neuter, microchip, reduced cost Training Class, free veterinary exam, 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & Treat packet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Murray, a Portland Jack Russell Terrier/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Jack Russell Terrier/Dachshund for sale in Portland, or seeking a Jack Russell Terrier/Dachshund dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Jack Russell Terrier/Dachshund breeders who help with Jack Russell Terrier/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
