Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Makiado: 2-3 y/o Male Brown Tabby Persian
Maki is a tiny, adorable little lap kitty. He only weighs about 7 pounds, and he runs and plays like a kitten. When Maki came to rescue he was very shy, but once he found out he was now safe and loved, he blossomed into loving companion. He enjoys the company of other nice kitties, especially if they will run and play with him. Little Maki chirps and coos very softly when he is happy and when he plays. He runs around the house with toys in his mouth, throwing them in the air and catching them. Maki loves to cuddle and you can hold like a baby. He enjoys gentle brushing although he has little fur to brush at the moment; he came into rescue completely matted and now is sporting lions cut which is actually very cute on him. He is an all around great boy. He is still slightly shy with new people, but warms up very quickly. He would do best in a quiet home with no small children or dogs. Makiado is being fostered in Sacramento.
A breeder in Northern California suffered a massive stroke in September 2006. The cats were taken in by a "caretaker" who had no knowledge of how to care for this high maintenance breed of cat. So, from September 2006 to January 2007, they wandered around outside with no care or grooming. Thankfully, the breeder and caretaker realized it was time to release the cats and find new homes for them. All 10 have come to Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue where they are awaiting their new forever homes. All have been altered, vaccinated, and tested negative for feline aids and feline leukemia. Most have been shaved, or groomed, but there are still a few needing to be fully stripped of their mats.
