Mittens's Story...
Hello, my name is Mittens! I am one of the Sunshine Pups ! We were born early in June 2011 under the Sunshine Bonsai Tree Shop on Greenville Avenue in Dallas. Our mother, Annabell and our father, Daddy Jack had 8 lovely puppies. Mom, Dad and I are the last ones waiting for a forever home.

My foster mom adores me. She calls me sweet and well-behaved. I'm also smart and I know "sit" and "lay down". I am a perfect girl on a walk because I don't pull at all. I LOVE to go on my walks. When I see her pick up my leash I sit by the front door because walks are my favorite things in the world. Although... I really like to chase squirrels, too. Maybe that's my favorite thing?? Hmmmm or is it riding in the car? I get really excited when Foster Mom grabs her car keys. I guess I have three favorite things! LOL

I am crate trained, housetrained and very obedient. I am good with other dogs... I'd like another young dog in my forever family to play with. I like to chase the ball with my foster brother when Foster Mom throws it. Then I run around the yard with it and don't want to give it back! I love to give kisses and I'll always let you know if I hear a strange noise that might mean "danger".

I may be shy at first because when I was a really young puppy I didn't have people around to handle me. But just like my brothers and sisters, when I've been in my new home for a few months and get used to everything that is new, I'll settle down and be just fine. Time and patience is all it will take and then I'll feel like part of the family too.
Small children (younger than 8) make me nervous, so I'd like to have only older children or no children in my new family.

I am a healthy and happy young girl, I've been spayed, microchipped and I'm up to date on my vaccines. I am heartworm negative. So if you would like a sweet, shy, smart and lovely girl to be part of your family please fill out an application for me, MITTENS, at http://www.animalalliesoftexas.org/adoption-application/ today!

About Animal Allies of Texas

About Our Rescue Group...

Animal Allies of Texas is a 501(c)(3) animal advocacy/rescue organization, dedicated to improving the quality of life in our community. Our goal is to build a no-kill shelter on enough land to house not only "adoptable" animals, but "treatable" ones as well - those who need medical care or behavior modification to become adoptable. While working toward this goal, we will also engage in community service and humane education projects to help bring about "humanity championed by thought."

Come Meet Our Pets...

We hold adoption events at one or more locations every week end. Please check the calendar on our web site www.animalalliesoftexas.org for specific locations and times.

Our Adoption Process...

All potential adopters must submit an application, either online via our web site www.animalalliesoftexas.org or a paper application at an adoption event. General requirements for adoption: You must live in the DFW/Ft. Worth/North Texas area - we do not adopt outside this area. Dogs must be primarily inside, and cats must be totally inside. Cats must not be declawed. All pets must be spayed/neutered if this has not been done prior to adoption. Adopter must agree to a home visit prior to adoption. Adopter MUST agree to return pet to AAT if he/she can no longer keep the pet or if AAT deems it to be in the best interest of the pet. An adoption agreement detailing these and other requirements must be signed to finalize adoption. Current fees are: dogs-$175, cats-$110. This covers all vaccinations, spay/neuter and microchipping.
