Chaplin's Story...
Can you guess how Chaplin ended up with his name? He was rescued from a park in Hatfield where a local woman threatened to trap and take Chaplin and his cat friends to the SPCA. Fortunately, a Stray Cat Blues volunteer was contacted and got the whole colony of cats fixed and in suitable homes. Chaplin is the last one to get his chance.

Chaplin is neutered, litterbox trained, and vaccinated, but has tested positive for FIV. He is otherwise healthy, has been bathed and is microchipped. Chaplin LOVES cat friendly dogs. Please consider giving him the home he has been waiting so long for and deserves.

FIV stands for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. FIV can suppress the immune system but most cats live very long and healthy lives with FIV. FIV positive cats do not require any regular medications. For more information on FIV our volunteers would be happy to discuss this condition with you. FIV is primarily spread through deep bite wounds. FIV is not spread by sharing litter boxes or food bowls. It is also not spread by cats cuddling or playing with each other. FIV cannot be spread to people or to non-cat pets such as dogs. FIV+ cats are sweet, funny, affectionate, and playful, just as any other cat!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chaplin, a Colmar Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Colmar, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Colmar.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Colmar already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Colmar breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Colmar paves the way for another one to be saved.
