Chaos's Story...
Chaos is one of the sweetest guys around. He lived as a stray cat and begged for food for over a year before he was rescued. His habit of meowing loudly outside the neighbors sliding doors in his search for food resulted in his foster mom naming him Chaos since he would drive all the neighbors cats and dogs inside the houses crazy. That, however, didnt bother Chaos. He simply longed to be inside with everyone else and have enough food in his belly.

Chaos is outgoing and extremely affectionate. A big baby who adores being the center of attention.

Chaos originally tested negative for FeLV and FIV when he was rescued. However, a subsequent test on 6/13/2011 came up positive for FIV. It is therefore suggested that Chaos be an only kitty (dogs are okay). However, considering his bigger than life personality, one sweet and lovable Chaos is all any cat lover should need. FIV positive kitties like Chaos can live long and happy lives with good vet care and a loving home.

FIV stands for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. FIV can suppress the immune system but most cats live very long and healthy lives with FIV. For more information on FIV our volunteers would be happy to discuss this condition with you. FIV is primarily spread through deep bite wounds. FIV cannot be spread to people or to non-cat pets such as dogs. FIV+ cats are sweet, funny, affectionate, and playful, just as any other cat!

Rescue Group Info...

About Our Rescue Group...
Officially, Stray Cat Blues, Inc. is a no-kill, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization providing rescue and placement to stray, abandoned, and feral cats. Personally, SCB is a small group of dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to find loving, life-long homes for cats. We are professional in our practices, but we are emotional on the subject of homeless cats, and the ways in which we humans can work to prevent this epidemic of strays.

Stray Cat Blues actively works to find permanent homes for the stray cats in our program. Our kittens and cats are exposed to the pet-loving public at our different adoption locations (see Come Meet our Pets section below) to facilitate adoptions and to provide visibility for our organization. Our cats can also be seen online at www.adoptapet.com.

Most of our cats offered for adoption are strays and their offspring that are rescued off the streets.

For those stray cats that are more wary of humans, especially feral cats, we can help humanely trap, sterilize and either return them if the area they live in is safe and they are being fed, or we house them and adopt them out as barn cats.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chaos, a Colmar Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Colmar, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Colmar.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Colmar already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Colmar breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Colmar paves the way for another one to be saved.
