Joe is a male grey tabby domestic short hair, born May 24th, 2009.
Joe is the son of July, who came to us as a pregnant female that was dropped off at a managed feral cat colony. July has been adopted, along with Joe's litter mates Buffy, Leia and Otto. Joe is here waiting to find his forever home, along with his brother Billy Whiteshoes (grey tabby with white tipped paws). They do not need to be adopted together.
Joe started out being a shy kitten, but he is improving. He is still reserved even around people he knows, but he has made improvements learning to be comfortable around people. With continued loving care and handling, we expect he will only keep improving. Because of his shyness, Joe tends to fade into the background behind some of our more outgoing and friendly cats, and thus he has not been adopted yet.
Joe gets along well with other cats, and he enjoys their company. We think Joe would do best in a home where there was another cat who was comfortable and friendly with people, both to be a companion to Joe and to be a role model to ease his anxiety about interacting with people. His feline companion could be either a younger playmate or an older parental figure to model positive interactions with his human family.
Joe has settled into a routine, spending most of his days napping in the large wicker basket with his buddy Diamondback, staring out the front window. His life is still missing something though - he needs a loving family. If this could be you, please call us now to come meet Joe.
