Raina's Story...
Raina is a black, 30 pound, Basenji/Lab mix who we are estimating was born October 9th, 2010. She sometimes takes a little bit to warm up to new people, but once you've earned her trust, you have a best friend for life! Because of this, we are thinking that she might do best in a "quieter" household. Raina enjoys spending time with her trusted humans; she enjoys her lap time, going on walks, and car rides. Raina is playful and gets along well with other dogs, once properly introduced. Even though some Basenjis are barkless, Raina can bark. She has been vet checked, spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, and tested negative for heartworm. Call 507-451-4512 to meet Raina in her foster home. Her adoption fee is $185. (VR&JK)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Raina, a Owatonna Labrador Retriever/Basenji dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Basenji for sale in Owatonna, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Basenji dog from a breeder in Owatonna.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Owatonna already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Owatonna breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Basenji breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Basenji rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Owatonna paves the way for another one to be saved.
