Sheena's Story...
Sheena is a very nice 1 year old lab mix, with some looks of a shar-pei, but the personality of a lab. She is outgoing and active, with a sweet temperament, attentive and affectionate, will stick close by you, and would make an excellent running/jogging companion. One of the cute things she likes to do is wrap her front leg around your arm or rest it on your shoulder while you're sitting or driving- funny to watch. One of the nicer aspects of Sheena is that she is not much of a chewer, especially considering her young age, and she doesn't seem to get into things when you're not looking. She is just starting with crate training- so far, so good. She needs someone who will continue with her training, and she'll do well- she has a lot of potential, and so pretty to look at, too. She does well with other dogs and rides well in the car. If you can give Sheena a home to call her own, then please fill out anapplication at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sheena, a Newport Shar Pei/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shar Pei/Labrador Retriever for sale in Newport, or seeking a Shar Pei/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Newport.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Newport already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Newport breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shar Pei/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Shar Pei/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Newport paves the way for another one to be saved.
