Sailor's Story...
Sailor is a 1 year old neutered boy. He is such a good boy, he hasn't met a human or animal he didn't like or want to play with. He likes to go for walks and rides in the car or just hanging out. He likes the attention and company of people and/or animals, but he is not needy. He will do fine with cats but doesn't understand why they don't want to play with him.He has been sweet and gentle with children at the park and in the neighborhood, but has never lived in a home with children. He is just so happy and grateful to be alive, be fed everyday, have a warm, dry place to sleep and someone to play with. He knows basic commands, listens well and is house trained and vaccinated. If you can give Sailor a home to call his own, then please fill out an application at www.peisandstrays.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sailor, a Newport Shar Pei/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shar Pei/Labrador Retriever for sale in Newport, or seeking a Shar Pei/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Newport.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Newport already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Newport breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shar Pei/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Shar Pei/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Newport paves the way for another one to be saved.
