Socrates is a wonderful kitty. He is a very large wideband tabby. He is just gorgeous. Socrates is considered one of our residents. He is a 'pee-er' and is pretty much unadoptable. He can be vocal about wanting to be petted and loves receiving attention. He is very outgoing. He is neutered and front paw declawed. He was adopted from us as a kitten. His family surrendered him to the humane society in July of 2011 because he was not getting along with their other two male kitties and he was not consistently using the litter box. We found that he had urinary crystals that were making it painful for him to urinate. He was treated for those and no longer has crystals. He continues to urinate inappropriately and we believe it may be a combination of his alpha cat personality along with it having become habit after not being treated for the crystals right away in his old him. Whatever the case, Socrates has a safe place with us.

Adoption Process
Every kitten is tested for Feline Leukemia and adult cats are tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV. All cats are de-wormed, de-fleaed and have received a Distemper vaccine. With every adoption, we work with you to ensure every phase of introducing your kitten or cat into your home is smooth and pleasant.
Step One
After you have found the perfect fit, you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire. Your responses are reviewed and if the fit is good for both you and the kitty or cat, you move on to the next step which is the Adoption Agreement.
Step Two
The Adoption Agreement is the binding contract between you and Kindred Kitties for the adoption of your new family member. A tax deductible donation to Kindred Kitties is requested. You will be given a Certificate for a free health check and if the cat/kitten is not yet spayed, you will receive a Spay/Neuter Certificate offering discounts at a number of local veterinarians.
One Cat (over 1 year old) = $60.00 or two for $100.00
One Kittens (under a year) = $80.00 or two for $120.00
If spay/neuter date is within two weeks of adoption date, it will be included with adoption fee.
Step Three
Make sure you have everything you need for your new family member before you bring your kitten or cat home. A volunteer will be able to assist you. Here is a list of things you will need:
Litter pan, litter and scooper
Food (dry and/or wet) appropriate for the age of your kitty
Food and water bowls
Toys (for socializing)
Bed or blanket
A quiet secure room for them to become acclimated with their new home
Lots of love and affection
