My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

4/28/12 - I'VE BEEN ADOPTED!

Adoption Fee: $350

Fostered in Louisiana

Age: 5 years

Weight: 7.5 lbs.

3/13/12 - Annie is a sweetheart of a gal that will need a home where she isn't left for long periods of time. Annie brings new light to the phrase "velcro dog". She will follow you everywhere, when you stop she leans up on you to be picked up, if you sit down, she has to be right by you or in your lap (being petted, and if you stop petting, she'll paw at you) and she will sleep right next to you and not let any air get through.

We can't really call Annie an alpha dog, but she demands/needs so much of your attention that she will get jealous if another dog tries to get any. Sometimes she will snap at them, but understands being corrected for this. She is a very sensitive lady and anytime you so much as give her a tone that something is wrong, she will go hide behind a piece of furniture. She also crawls to you on her belly.

This little baby has definitely experienced some unpleasant days/weeks/years in her life and even though it will never be that way again, she is still unsure.

She does love when people visit her foster home and will run up to anyone wanting attention, love, rubs, pettings, etc., but she wants it non-stop. Annie will wear a collar just fine, but is not leash trained and will not even walk on a leash, so she will need a fenced in yard to do her business. She is used to potty pads also, but does go outside. This doesn't mean she will not make mistakes until acclimated to her new home, but is used to potty pads and outside.

She eats very well, maybe a little too well, since she has entered her foster home, she has gained a little weight and could stand to be on a diet. Shhhh. Don't tell Annie though, because she thinks she is just perfect. She rides well in a car and is fine with her bath and drying. She is too timid to be in a home with small children, so an adult only home will be a necessity.

Thank you for reading Annie's bio and if you think that you would not get tired giving this little girl 100% love that she gives in return daily, fill out an application.

8/20/11 - Allow me to introduce myself... Annie! Annie Oakley! Just kidding. It’s just Annie, but I’m actually waiting for someone to give me their last name. Although, like Annie Oakley, I grew up in a country scene. I was living outside, made to have babies for money. Now that I have luckily entered rescue, I’m living inside, sleeping in a bed, and we are finding out that I LOVE attention. Cuddling is my favorite past-time and if I could be loved on 23.5 hours a day, I would be a happy Yorkie. I just can’t get enough of my human(s). I walk every step with you and when you sit or lie down, I am so close to you, I’m like second skin. I love to be held and touched and when you stop petting me, I will move closer to you begging to be petted. I think this is a result of never feeling or having this before and am not ever going to give you a chance to take it away from me again.

I would probably do better as an only pet since I am in a foster home with one other submissive male dog, and I get jealous and snip at him when he tries to come close to foster mom. I want her all to myself. Recently, a female pup was brought over and I instantly took a disliking to her. So we have to assume I’m an alpha and would not do well with other dogs unless one is soooo laid back and doesn’t care that I get all the attention from mommy and daddy. Sorry for this personality quirk, but I’ve been outside, giving birth to litter after litter with no human interaction all my life and I have it now and am going to be selfish about it. I’m sure there is a home out there that only wants one adorable little devoted diva. Well, I can be that. I dote on my human, so one is all you need.
