December update: WOW !!!! This little loving kitty is so
wonderful. Not only did Beauty immediately get on the lap of this
man she had never met but she gently got right on the lap of his ten
month old baby girl and rubbed her head on the baby's hand and body.
I have never seen anything like it. I ran for my camera and missed
the main shots but she was SO loving to this little girl it just
about brought tears to my eyes. This is an amazing cat. Someone is
going to be so incredibly lucky to take her home. ( it can't be me
but I wish it could) )
I just got this beautiful girl. These photos don't seem to do her
justice. The red in her soft coat gives her a very warm rich color.
Her eye color goes perfectly with the colors in her her fur. Her
shelter name was Peanut but that didn't seem elegant enough for her
so I thought w to call her the obvious, Beauty.
She is loving and enjoys the affection of humans. Purr Purr. She is
a calm and mellow cat, deep and wise and watchful. That is not to
say she won't grab at a feather with the practiced ease of a jungle
hunter. She was in a shelter having been left there by her owner..
Likely another victim of the poor economy.
I have only had her a few days ( 8/17) but I can see she is friendly
to other cats and would probably be fine with dogs. Beauty is a
confident cat with great composure.Maine Coons are wonderful
companions and I expect she will be happy to follow you around as you
do your chores, watch TV with you when you are done.and sleep with
you at night when the day is over. Very nice girl.
I will write more when I know her better. More photo's soon.
She loves wet food and eats dry also and is litterbox perfect.
