Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi Everyone,
My name is Timmy and I am a loving and housebroken bichon mix – with a bit of a rocky past. After being a loving and loyal companion for eight years, I ended up in a kill shelter surrounded by barking dogs. You see, my Dad was taken to the hospital and is not coming home - and I have not had a mom in quite a while. Bichon FurKids rescued me the day I was supposed to be put down and a lovely lady fostered me. She fell in love with me – then her company sent her to Iraq.
At that point another lovely lady took me in and was ready to adopt me when, all of a sudden, she got the offer of a lifetime – but it meant traveling three weeks out of four. That’s going to be too hard on both of us which is why I am now looking for my Forever and Ever Home.
When I found myself dropped off at the shelter, things were very confusing for me. After living in a home, being outside in the cold was pretty scary for a little guy like me so I stopped eating. I now am eating again and feeling safe – I just need, more than anything in the world, a family to love me and let me love them back!
I’m not a high maintenance guy – I am pretty mellow and just happy to be near someone I love. I really like being around girl dogs, am good with cats and even pretty good with birds. Sometimes I get protective when there is a male dog around – but the trainer says I can ‘unlearn’ this and that I really want to please.
Although I am only eight, I have a cataract in one eye so I have to be a bit careful when I go out – but I navigate and get around just fine. Bichon FurKids is checking into whether I am a candidate for surgery -as the volunteers like me SOOOO much! If I can have my eye ‘fixed’ they want to do it as I have many more years of life in this little body!
So if you are looking for a happy, lovable guy who likes to go for walks, rides and to curl up in your lap, please complete an application at www.bichonfurkids.com/application.htm so we can meet.
