My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ADOPTION FEE: $250

Fostered in North Carolina

Age: 8 year

Weight: 4 lbs.

1/3/12 – Lizzie is doing great! She is eating well and taking her medicines daily. She has to have two of her liquid medicines compounded into chewables because she does NOT like liquid medicine. She likes to curl up on the couch for a nice nap, but will pace back and forth from room to room when she is ready to eat her breakfast or dinner. She can also hear sometimes and has learned her name. She is a very kissy little girl and likes to play tug of war with a toy every once in a while too!

8/19/11 - Lizzie is a loving little girl that LOVES to give kisses. When we picked Lizzie up we could tell that something wasn't quite right for her since she walks with her head down all the time, walks like she is on hot coals, doesn't have very good balance, was quite under weight, and appeared to be deaf. We went to the neurologist the other day and Lizzie had an MRI. She has a malformation of the skull, which is the reason she walks with her head down and could be the cause of her deafness. It has also caused a pocket of fluid in her spinal cord. She also has a mildly bulging disc in her back and mild AAI. We are doing a two week trial on steroids and pain meds to see if it helps her at all since the doctor believes she is in a little bit of pain from these issues. Once we are finished with the trial we will decide what the next best option might be for little Lizzie, which could potentially be surgery. Regardless of her issues, she is a very loving and sweet little girl. She loves and kisses everyone she comes in contact with and will follow you all around the house.
