MEET NELLIE...a zoftig, but adorable, 7 yr old, 21 lb (more of her to love), tan/white with black tips Lhasa Apso female. Nellie was dumped in the Baldwin Park Shelter by her owner and her daughter, on her way to a senior home that did not allow dogs. It's very clear to us that Nellie was never walked and while she likely was loved, she was overfed and under exercised. She really is like a stuffed (literally) animal....so cuddly and fluffy! That being said....she is very lovable and once she sheds a few pounds, she will be more lively and happy! She loves to play with toys and entertains herself. She is great with people and kids...she is OK with most dogs, preferably males. She loves to be with you and will throw herself on her back to get belly rubs! She is rather slow, as her foster puts it...but not to the bowl of food at super time! Then, she is faster than the speed of light! Very food motivated you might say! Nellie would love a home where she would be loved to life...walked (even though she will resist!) and snuggled a lot. She would be great in a mature home, although she would be great with the grandkids! She will be a great companion and cuddle-buddy! Nellie is waiting to come home with you!!
Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID tag!

First Sunday of the month, we hold our adoption events at The Healthy Spot West Hollywood (8525 Santa Moinca Blvd, West Hollywood, 90069) from 11am-3pm. Most every other Sunday, unless we are doing a special event, we are at My Pet Naturally (12001 W. Pico Blvd., West LA 90064) from 10:30a-3pm. You can see this, and many more, adorable pups at this weekly event! Please do call us if you are coming to see a particular dog to make sure he/she will be at adoptions (we do not bring sick dogs to our adoption events). Please bring a copy of your application and pictures of your home and yard if we have not done a home check! Most importantly, if you have a dog, make sure you bring him or her to do a compatibility match with the dog you are interested in adopting!!! And don't forget to check out our
