My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi my name is Cambria. Yep, it says Jane up there and that's my name too. My friends call me Cammi though and since I hope that we will be friends, you should feel free to use it.

My brother Carl (see Dick) and I came from a puppy mill and it was awful. We didn't get enough to eat and had these itchy bugs all over us and some skin fungus. We had to stay in dirty crates all the time and I hated it. So now I do my best to eat every bite of my meals when I get them and I never make a mess in my crate. I'm so proud of my fluffy pillow that I drag it with me everywhere and I would hate for it to get messy. I'm also completely housebroken with the dog door. I'm pretty good at it when the dog door is closed to, but I don't scratch or ring a bell or anything. Just patiently wait for you to notice me.

Foster mom says to let you know that I am a tiny little Diva and love to tell all the other dogs what to do. I'll probably weigh less than 20#'s when I'm full grown. I have to mention that I really do depend on Carl to lead the way when people are around and would probably do best in a house with another dog, but would be OK as an only dog with an experienced rescue owner.

I am a little on the shy side and don't like to be hugged too much. It feels like I'm trapped in that cage again....I just love gentle caresses on my body and boy do I love my tummy rubbed. If you want to pick me up for a quick hug and kiss I'm OK with that, and rolling around on the floor with me is so much fun, but I’m just not comfortable with cuddling that feels like being restrained.

Please read our Standards for Adoption, the Beagle Camp Diaries and the information about beagles and puppies before you submit an adoption application. Remember that owning a puppy is a full time commitment and you must have the time to commit to a dog who will be with you for 12-17 years. Beagle puppies are cute - but they are very challenging. Puppies may eat your apartment (no refund of security deposit); people who are gone for more than 5 hours at a time will need to make dog walker, neighbor or doggie daycare arrangements; and for families with very small children, puppies will chew toys, shoes, blankets and hands, feet and other important parts of your child's anatomy.
