My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Most people notice Axle first in any pack because of his lanky elegance and striking blue/gold/cream brindled colors. Mother looked like a plothound, Dad was a Great Pyrenees, but Axle looks like there may be some greyhound in the linage somewhere. He was found by CARE, Inc. as a puppy sitting on top of a flooded dog house, and when questioned, the owner said he didn't want the pups. So Axle was brought to CARE where he has grown up in a large play yard with lots of play mates. He has never wanted for anything at CARE except individual attention. This has made him a little shy when he meets a new person, but he warms up quickly. He has had dozens of kennel mates and quickly finds his place in a pack. He would also be happy to be an only dog since he has had to share so much for his first three years of life. Some individual pampering would make Axle blossom into the stateliest dog at the park. He walks proudly on a leash, interested in everything he sees but not pulling or clinging.
