Lily's Story...
Lily is a very sweet, cat-like, cuddly and lovable, five-year-old, 13-pound, female Shih Tzu looking for a loving guardian. Lily is calm, quiet, and loves snuggling on her foster mom’s pillow each night. Her favorite place to hang out is in a laundry basket. She loves to go on walks, and has a low-key, easy-going lovable disposition. She loves lying in the sun, is fine with calm gentle dogs - but also likes her own space. She gets along well with cats. Lily is housebroken, and crate-trained. Her true love in life is people and she gives her favorite people kisses. Since she’s calm and quiet, she would fit into many different housing situations including apartments or condos. Lily was rescued from Chicago Animal Care & Control and was a matted mess. She has only one usable eye. It’s not known whether she was injured, or born that way. But, she needs no special treatment for her eye. She’s since been very well cared for, and beautifully groomed, in her foster home in Naperville, Illinois. Lily is healthy, spayed, de-wormed, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm-tested, and on preventative. She even had a dental cleaning. Her adoption fee of $250 benefits rescued pets. To meet and possibly adopt her, please contact Chris at Never2manyK9@aol.com or 630-699-1480.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lily, a Chicago Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
