Vance's Story...
Vance's mother's owners moved and threw her outside. She had her 4 kittens outside, but Vance and his brother became severely injured. Vance and Vincent had terrible leg wounds and Vincent is missing part of his ears. The boys are a bit shy, but that might be because they had to have their legs constantly attended to and had medicine daily for their injuries. Vance, his mother, brother and 2 sisters are all wonderful. Please call 815-751-8227, if interested. Adoption fee for Vance is $130. Birthdate: March 21, 2011

- - - - - Note: All cats and kittens are spayed or neutered; FIV-FeLV-Heartworm tested negative; vaccinated with FVRCP vaccine; wormed and microchipped. Kittens and cats older than 4 months also have a rabies vaccination.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Vance, a DeKalb Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in DeKalb, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in DeKalb.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in DeKalb already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a DeKalb breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in DeKalb paves the way for another one to be saved.
