Colleen's Story...
Hey, folks! My name is Colleen. Boy am I glad to be safe here at FOHA looking for my new home! There was a time when I wasn't sure I was going to make it, but here I am. Look at me now! Oh, yeah! I'm ready, so let's get started. I'm a fantastically friendly girl. I like other dogs, but you know, I really prefer male dogs! I know that might seem weird, but hey, I'm a girl, you know! What can I say? With my gorgeous looks I haven't had any trouble attracting eligible bachelors. What I'd really like to attract is a family of my own. Maybe if I bat my eyelashes, wiggle my butt, and put on my sweetest smile, that will do the trick. Come to FOHA and let me try it out on you! (PLEASE NOTE: I can only be adopted in the DC Metropolitan area. There will be no exceptions to this policy.)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Colleen, a Aldie Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
