Harvey's Story...
Harvey came to CSR in July of 2011 when he was aged at two years. He is another of our obsessive compulsive disorder dogs. We had a behavoiralist evaluate Harvey. He is now on medication that runs about $40 a month but makes a major difference in his behavior. Harvey also likes a long run (2-3 miles) a day or a long walk. His foster mom reports that he's a great running buddy, recently logging 15 miles in 3 days. After a brisk run he likes to relax a while, then he's up and at 'em. Foster Moms says, "You should see how excited he gets when I get my running shoes out." Harvey should be fine children from ten or twelve years of age up. He is a beautiful boy who will flourish in an active home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Harvey, a Houston Cocker Spaniel dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cocker Spaniel for sale in Houston, or seeking a Cocker Spaniel dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cocker Spaniel breeders who help with Cocker Spaniel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
