My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

There are pleny of famous ones-- Kate Hudson, Katie Perry, Kate Bosworth, Kate Moss, Kate Beckinsale... but they have NOTHING on me! Guarantee you none of their beauty is equal to my feline kind of prettiness. I am a feisty and active young girl that is done raising babies, so I'm ready to move on and find a home to call my own. Black and white can be a bit boring sometimes, but there is nothing that's boring about me! I love to play and bat toys around. I can be feisty and fun--feather teasers and things to play with are the best! Who doesn't love that? I am goofy and silly sometimes, or you can find my hiding under of the boss' desks! I am a Special Needs adoption because I have Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). I can help explain to you how that can change my life a tiny bit if you're willing to work with me on it. Because it is an immune deficiency, I will be able to get sick easier if I come in contact with diseases or conditions that my immune system can not fight because it is not as strong. This means that I will always need to be an indoor cat because there are things outside that I would be susceptible to that could make me sick and being inside can help to better prevent that. Because my immune system will never be as strong, I might have a shortened life span, but right now I am still very young and spunky! I would be able to live in a home with other cats if you'd like to adopt me. I hang out in the office here at the shelter with all of the other cats because FIV is not transmitted through sharing a litter box, water, toys or food at all. It can only be transmitted through deep bite wounds that could be caused by a pretty bad cat fight. FIV is never contagious to dogs or people, though! I know that sounds like a lot to take in, but if you think you can make a nice life for a special needs girl like me, I'd love to meet you!
Before making the trip to visit we strongly recommend checking our website for information on adoption policies and procedures. Pets can be adopted quickly, and although we update our pet list daily the puppy or kitten you see on our website before you leave may be adopted by the time you arrive. To inquire about a pet's availability or for more information please visit our website www.capeannanimalaid.com or phone the shelter (978-283-6055) instead of sending emails as emails are not always answered on a daily basis. Because we are a busy place and because so many animals need our care and attention, adoptions are on a first come basis and no animal will be put on hold, we appreciate your understanding and look forward to your visit!

This pet comes with a 30-day gift of Sheltercare pet insurance, the number one brand of pet insurance for adopted pets. Over 3 million adopted pets have already been insured!
