Dexter-FIV positive's Story...
Hi, I’m Dexter. I was found stray outside here in Springfield. I am FIV+, which means I need to be indoor only. I can live a normal, healthy life as long as I receive routine care, such as yearly vet exams. I do have mild to moderate gingivitis, so I need dental care. I’m so friendly and loving. I really hope someone will be my adoption angel and take me home. I can live with other FIV+ cats and I can live with dogs. The return you’ll get in love and purrs will be well worth the investment. Come visit me in the colony room at the Springfield Adoption Center!

This pet comes with a 30-day gift of Sheltercare pet insurance, the number one brand of pet insurance for adopted pets. Over 3 million adopted pets have already been insured!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dexter-FIV positive, a Springfield Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Springfield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Springfield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Springfield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Springfield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Springfield paves the way for another one to be saved.
