My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi Everyone! My name is Charlie and I am quite the handsome Sulfur Crested Cockatoo. I am approximately 15 years old which means I am still a youngster! I am also smaller than a Moluccan or Umbrella Cockatoo which makes me just the perfect size!

I bet you noticed my beak looks a little different. I was attacked by a Macaw in a previous home and part of the top of my beak is missing. No worries, though, I am in no pain and I can eat and climb with no problems, my beak is just shaped a little funny is all. I like to think of it as distinctive!

My foster mommy says I am a wonderful bird to have in the home! I will step up onto your hand and sit on your shoulder. I just love head scritches and cuddle time. I have a bucket full of toys that I love to throw on the floor and play with. When I am done, my mom says I am such a good boy, I put all the toys back in the bucket.

I am a good eater! I am on a healthy diet of pellets mixed with Higgens Safflower Gold. I like mixed veggies with bits of sliced almonds and chopped walnuts mixed in and will eat that daily. The piece of fruit that YOU are eating tastes way better than the one you just gave me, so I only like fruit if I can eat yours.

I am a pretty happy fella! I am fully feathered with no history of plucking. I do not care for men, so I need a female caregiver and home with no other pets and no children, I am afraid of them. I like to be out of my cage and need someone who can give me a lot of out of cage time, I love roaming on the floor and follow mom around the house like a dog.

I have been in Rescue for over a year so my adoption fee has been discounted. Won't you come meet me? I just know that my forever home is out there, maybe it's with you? If you would like to buy me a gift from my amazon wish list, I would be so thankful!
