Hi Everyone! My name is Champ and I am a gorgeous young, (under 10 years old) Moluccan Cockatoo. My foster mom says that I am a darling bird with so much personality! I am very friendly! I like all types of people, men, women, and children. I will happily accept head scritches and treats from you, even if I don't know you very well, it's who I am :)

Besides people, one of the things I really like is to hang upside down! I will swing and hang that way for hours on end. Another thing I really like is to be under the covers. This makes it very easy for me to be toweled off after my baths, or get my toenails clipped or filed.

I am on a healthy diet of pellets, veggies, grains, meat, eggs and fruit. I love cooked sweet potatoes or yams, organic canned pumpkin (not the pie filling, the real pumpkin), fish, chicken, pork, beef and rice, couscous, cooked legumes, all peppers, and of course fruit (grapes especially). Nuts are my treat of choice though, my favorite is shelled pistachios! YUMMMMMMMMMMMMY!!!! (please don't feed me peanuts, they are not really nuts and they are not good for me)

I am a Cockatoo and I do sometimes scream. My foster mom has been working with me on this and I've made great progress but screaming is something I do in the wild and I will never stop completely, it's just what Cockatoos do. Because of this, I am not suited for apartment or condo living and can only be adopted into a single family home.

I will make a wonderful family companion. Won't you please come out and meet me and see if we "click"? I so want to find my forever home. Could it be with you? While I'm waiting to meet you, would you like to send me a gift from my Amazon wish list? I sure would appreciate it! Here is the link:

Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope to meet you soon!
Hugs and snuggles,
Champ

About Florida Parrot Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Florida Parrot Rescue is dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of companion parrots. We strive to educate parrot owners on proper handling and care of parrots. Should someone be unable to keep their bird(s) for ANY reason, we want them to know there is a place to turn, and that they are not alone. It is our goal to provide a safe haven for birds that cannot stay with their owners or birds in need, and then to find those birds permanent forever homes with loving and responsible families.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our rescues are located in homes through out the state. We will work with the fosters and potential adopters to set up dates and times.
