Tex's Story...
Tex is a young 10 month old male German Shepherd mix. We just claimed him from the Austin City dog pound. This guy is a young, goofy, easy-going character. He’s a big fellow but pretty gentle and harmless. He seems to do fine with other dogs and he’s just a good-natured, all-American mixed breed dog. Tex will be vetted very soon, and he won’t be adopted out before we have his vaccinations all updated, and his neuter surgery completed. He would be an extremely fun family pet for someone. His adoption fee is $75. If you'd like more information, or would like us to e-mail our short adoption application to you, please send us an e-mail.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tex, a Austin German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Austin, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Austin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Austin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Austin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Austin paves the way for another one to be saved.
