Barrett's Story...
location: Floyds Knobs, IN
Looking for a bigger guy to have fun with? Barrett is your dog. He is a one-and-a-half year old, 25 pound Rat Terrier with lots of personality. Barrett loves to play with the other dogs in his foster home and can run like the wind. He is housebroken, learning to walk on a leash, crate trained and very intelligent. Barrett is very gentle with the older dogs; he treats them very cautiously when he greets them. He came from an Indiana kill shelter and was spotted by a friend of his fostermom, who could not pass up such a great guy. Barrett likes balls, chew-toys and treats. He would make someone a great agility dog. Barrett would love to come to your house and be your friend!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Barrett, a Carmel Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Carmel, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Carmel.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Carmel already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Carmel breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Carmel paves the way for another one to be saved.
