Manny's Story...
Manny, a gorgeous 3 year old, has just arrived from Georgia. He is definitely among the sweetest-natured dogs we've met, just a lovable, attentive boy. With some basic training, he will make someone a fabulous pet. He is very food-oriented, so treats are very helpful. Manny walks on a leash beautifully with no pulling. When he has encountered other dogs, joggers, bicycles, UPS truck, and even a very noisy power company truck, he is very calm. No barking or lunging. He has a great appetite. Of course, what Rottie doesn't? Manny is crate trained and almost fully house trained. We can share his signal :) He has no food aggression at all. We can take his bowl away while he is eating, and he does not protest. We can touch him while he’s eating with no problem. He meets strangers beautifully, but due to his size should not be around small children as he could knock them over. While in foster care in GA waiting for his transport, he met some neighbors one evening. Their twins are just beginning to walk. The husband had a child on his shoulders; the mother carried a child on her hip. Manny was very good (in fact, he seemed not to notice the children). He sat quietly and allowed both parents to pet him. Manny rides well in the car, no car sickness, but he does prefer to be up front which is a no-no. He will eventually settle in the back seat,, but we did harness him to reinforce this. Manny was even a good boy at the vet! He remained calm and sweet, even during a fecal check! MANNY IS HEARTWORM POSITIVE AND RECEIVING MEDICATION. THE MEDICATION AND VET CARE REQUIRED FOR THE HEARTWORM TREATMENT WILL BE SPONSORED BY THE RESCUE. ADOPTERS NEED TO BE EXPERIENCED WITH HEARTWORM. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Manny, a Frederick Rottweiler dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rottweiler for sale in Frederick, or seeking a Rottweiler dog from a breeder in Frederick.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Frederick already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Frederick breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rottweiler breeders who help with Rottweiler rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Frederick paves the way for another one to be saved.
