Jackson seemed a bit nervous of the camera but was fine otherwise. He is also a brave boy and kept trying to jump out of the exam room chair he was posed on! Take a look at these two short videos to see how charming he is!!

Jackson and his littermates were dumped at a kill shelter; they were all thrown away like trash. Most of us know how a rescue story starts but to actually see the dogs and know how they came to rescue makes it is very hard to stand by and not want to try to do something. It is hard sometimes for us to sleep because we see their sweet loving faces and know that we cannot help them all, but hate that we could not help when we are just too full. This is the case, we are very full but want to try to help Jackson and his littermates -- there are 2 females and 3 males.

Their story is one of chance; by chance a rescuer was at the shelter when the pups were surrendered. The whole litter was going to be put down but the rescuer looked at them and could not walk away, she was full but just could not turn her back on these babies. She took them to a foster and she does not want them to go back to the shelter but is unable to find them a home. She asked PAWS for help and Rescue Dog Village collaborates with PAWS in hopes that they all find a loving home.

Jackson has been given his first vaccine and bordetella vaccine; he is due for another booster but could be ready to travel as early as September 8th. He will need to have a follow up worming, but other than that, he is up-to-date. The adoption fee includes spaying/neutering, rabies vaccine, fecal, heartworm and flea prevention and the transport fee.

We believe that the dogs pick their adopters and they are meant for that family for a reason. A rescuer with RDV did not want a dog but her family begged and begged her to adopt a dog. Finally, after much discussion, she gave in and they adopted the dog. Fourteen years later, she was rescued by her dog and would not be around today to help other dogs. Could it be that the dog you adopt saves you from a fire, loneliness, fill your home with laughter, companionship? Whatever the reason, know that if you apply for Jackson, your story started with a rescuer that could not walk away.

Please remember that when you fill out your application to include all your vet information and double check the phone number to make sure it is the right numbers. Also, call your vet's office and let them know that it is ok to speak with us. This will help move your application along much faster.

About Our Rescue

These dogs deserve all of our attention, and in Rescue Dog Village, we are committed to our adopters and our dogs equally. We offer full disclosure and hope to make the best matches possible. Please know our adoption fees never cover our expenses. We rely on the generosity of our adopters and supporters to help us help the dogs.

Our rescue is ONLY in the business of offering FULL DISCLOSURE to adopters, and expects and hopes to engage your questions and concerns fully. We owe it to the dogs we rescue and all the wonderful families/adopters who might consider welcoming our charges into their hearts and home. Our dogs are waiting for that ideal forever home where they will be cherished as deserving family members. It's sad these second chances are even necessary for these dogs, but we are committed to them and will devote the time and energy to their rehoming, and not just MOVE them to save more dogs. We diligently and responsibly seek good matches as we don't want to re-home the dog again. These animals have already endured more than they should have, and through no fault of their own. It behooves us to be honest and forthright, and we appreciate the same in return from applicants. It's that winning combination of reciprocal trust and respect that allows for successful placements to be made. Happy adopters translate to happy dogs, and that's our goal!

Our rescue volunteers will be more than honored to be in touch with you directly and promptly, after receiving your application and conducting a mandatory a veterinarian check. If you have never owned a dog before, please submit your application regardless, and we will be in touch with you as soon as possible. TAKE NOTE YOU SHOULD CHECK YOUR SPAM AS SOME RESPONSES FROM US WIND UP THERE WE'VE DISCOVERED. Also, take care to contact your veterinarian to let them know a member of rescue will be inquiring about your pet history!

Thank you for respecting that we all donate our time to saving these animals, and understand we value your philanthropic and compassionate desire to help be part of the rescue team. That said, you'll understand why we are committed to the well-being of our charges and consider this veterinarian check mandatory. If you are a first-time dog owner, we will work with you every step of the way! ADVOCACY AND EDUCATION ARE AS MUCH A PART OF RESPONSIBLE RESCUE AS ADOPTION! And it takes a RESCUE VILLAGE to help the most dogs possible in a thorough manner to ensure success on all fronts, and then some! It is an awful feeling to fail a dog, and we can't continue rescue if we don't do everything we can to ensure good matches for the dogs and tender families who might adopt them. THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING.

Although we are an extremely small rescue group, we understand and respect your family's eagerness to be in touch and learn as much as you can about the dogs you are considering adopting. Our very experienced and devoted trainer will be happy to share all aspects of OUR RESCUE DOGS to determine compatibility once you've submitted your application, and another of our volunteers will explain the whole process of our rescue and answer any questions you might have as well

If you have the time and love to offer this extremely bright dog who can make you laugh for hours at his antics, PLEASE APPLY TO BE CONSIDERED FOR A RESCUE DOG VILLAGE DOG AND GIVE ONE A HOME. Our dogs deserve all that a committed family can offer. Make no mistake about it, this is one spectacular dog!

Please contact RescueDogVillage@yahoo.com and we will be happy to return your correspondence, but please submit the application now so we can have that information as a starting base for our dialogue.

THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING RESCUE AS A MEANS OF WELCOMING YOUR NEXT FOUR-LEGGED FRIEND INTO YOUR LIFE!

ALL interested adopters MUST complete an application; agree to a vet reference check, phone interview and home visit. ALL family members MUST be in attendance for home visits - no exceptions. This helps us get to know everyone in the family so that we can help find the right dog for you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jackson, a Preston Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever for sale in Preston, or seeking a Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Preston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Preston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Preston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Preston paves the way for another one to be saved.
