Phoebe is a nine-pound female Maltese-Poodle mix who is about a year old. If you are looking for a pal who will adore you, snuggle at any time, and amuse you with her playful antics...Phoebe may be that girl. If you are looking for a low-maintenance dog, Phoebe is NOT that dog. She loves to play with dogs and toys, but what she loves best is to be with people. What she doesn't like is to be brushed. When she was picked up as a stray, her fur was matted to the skin, so much that she couldn't even poop! So, she had to be shaved down to start over. Daily brushing is thus a must, as are regular trips to a professional groomer. This sweetheart is very smart and could be a potential therapy dog since she learns quickly and likes people so much. We are working on obedience skills, especially teaching her that nipping in excitement is not a good thing. Phoebe would be a wonderful companion for an adult-only home where she gets lots of attention, walks, training and, of course, love. She is not needy and spends time on her own as long as she can check in with her person now and then. She is doing well on housetraining but will need a bit more time, patience, and a regular schedule to get this down. Want to have a pretty girl who will keep you warm at night?
