Kyra's Story...
Hi, I am Kyra…It’s been a while since the big incident, but maybe you saw me on TV? Me and 400 of my brothers and sisters were taken from a puppy mill in Kennewick WA where we just weren’t getting the care we deserved. I mean how could we! I am very shy with new people, and get scared pretty easily. So I need patience, patience, patience. A home where I can continue to learn that I am safe and there is no reason to be scared, now that is exactly what I need. I would prefer not to be around real young children, but I do well with other dogs and cats and kids 6+. I am well crate trained, housebroken already too. When I am feeling safe I even love to play with my tennis ball and stuffed animals…I just need someone who is willing to give me the time needed to feel safe and secure.  So are you my angle in waiting?
6 years old-22lbs. My adoption fee is $140 and includes; microchip, spay, reduced cost training class, 1 month pet health insurance, free veterinary exam , leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kyra, a Portland American Eskimo Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Eskimo Dog for sale in Portland, or seeking a American Eskimo Dog dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Eskimo Dog breeders who help with American Eskimo Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
