Kelli's Story...
If you are a Border Collie fan, you will love me! Not only am I beautiful, but I am brilliant as well. I came from another shelter, so we don't have alot of info on my past, but it is suspected I led a pretty secluded life. I take some time to warm up to new people and new situations. If you push me too quickly, I will get upset and very worried. Robin (our behavior expert) has been working with me, and she has discovered that once I accept you as my friend, my affection is boundless! I would be a wonderful dog for someone who understands us herding dogs, and who has time and patience to let me develop my confidence. I think children would be too much for me at this time, so I should probably go to a home with no kids or much older children. I do like other dogs, so a buddy would be great!

This pet comes with a 30-day gift of Sheltercare pet insurance, the number one brand of pet insurance for adopted pets. Over 3 million adopted pets have already been insured!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kelli, a Charlotte Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Charlotte, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Charlotte.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Charlotte already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Charlotte breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Charlotte paves the way for another one to be saved.
