My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This active, happy, apricot, neutered Miniature Poodle was found as a stray. He had stayed past his time at a pound here in Minnesota, yet no one claimed him.

As more time passed, the staff fell in love with this beautiful Poodle who loves to run, jump, play, cuddle and do everything that a Poodle is suppose to. They could not euthanize a dog that loves to be loved just because no one would claim him.

The staff strongly felt because this is such a great Poodle, who had been recently groomed, the owner would come forward. But they never did. Finally, Last Hope Rescue was contacted and they called us.

I went to pick him up and saw why... He is obviously very thin and blind in one eye with limited sight in the other. Dumped.

"VICTOR" has been Vet checked, teeth have been cleaned, heartworm tested negative and placed on a preventative. We also did a full blood work-up and found that he does NOT have diabetes. All of his shots are up to date, he has been micro chipped and wormed.

Victor is about 5 to 6 years old,14" tall and weighs only 9.20 pounds (needs more weight).

My Vet found that he has a cataract in his left eye and his right eye has limited vision.... "blind as a bat".

However, this is one amazing Poodle!! I am greatly impressed on his socialization skills, activity and desire to be with people while being happy all the time. He will even walk just fine on a leash!

What a positive attitude to have! Hard to believe, but he has a sight problem and has learned to overcome his handicap.

Yes! There is an operation that can be done so this Poodle could see again, but it is expensive and we do not have the funds for this $1,800.00 surgery.

****OMG! ~ GREAT NEWS!! Shut the front door!****
A family has come forward to pay for Victor's eye surgery! Thank you to PJ and her family in Montana for this most generous donation offer!
YES! WE ARE ACCEPTING YOUR donation to help PJ pay for this surgery!
Victor's appointment with Dr. Olivero (eye ophthalmologist) is Friday, September 9th.
This will be for an "evaluation" to determine if Victor is a good candidate
for the Cataract surgery.
More information will be posted after his appointment.

Victor has moved into our bed at night and snuggles right up to us. This special needs boy wants to be in your lap and always near you!

While he tolerates all our other Poodles, he seems to enjoy life by himself and in YOUR arms or lap!

Victor's $200.00 adoption fee covers only some of his Vet expenses. He is available for adoption to the right family who is willing to accept him as a blind Poodle.
