CANDY's Story...
Candy has lived the majority of her life in a puppy mill, where her sole purpose was to birth babies for profit. She never knew human companionship or love until her rescuer gave her a new life at 10 years of age. As she discovered the joys of living in a home, she blossomed into the perfect little companion and lap dog. Candy does not ask for much–she loves soft food (she has lost all her teeth due to a lifetime of poor nutrition) and a welcoming lap. She gives soft kisses and gentle hugs, and murmurs quietly when she wants to be picked up. One could not meet a more grateful pup who wants only to spend her remaining years making up for lost time, giving and receiving love. Quite spry, she has a lot of life left in her years and can still run with the rest of the pack. You can see the joy in her face while she scamps around with her foster sbilings. Candy is living proof that "age is only a number".

Candy is spayed, microchipped, and current on all vaccinations. Contact Brenda at to arrange a meeting with Candy.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

CANDY, a Houston Poodle (Miniature) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Poodle (Miniature) for sale in Houston, or seeking a Poodle (Miniature) dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Poodle (Miniature) breeders who help with Poodle (Miniature) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
