Tessa's Story...
Hi everybody. I'm Tessa, a basset hound. I'm approx. 18 months old and weigh 40 lbs. The nice HART people rescued me from a not-so-nice shelter in Kentucky. I've recently had puppies, but now I'm spayed and ready to come to your house. I am housebroken and my foster parents don't even crate me while they are at work. I'm a little shy with other dogs at first, but once I get to know them, I love to play with them. I get along well with my foster doggie sisters, but didn't love the dog park. Too may dogs at once! When my foster parents get home from work, they sit down and pet me and I tell them all about my day. I can be quite talkative. I even talk to my foster grandma on the phone sometimes.
Are you looking for a great companion? I am a love bug and need a forever home. Could that be your home?
Tessa is microchipped, spayed & up to date on her shots & vaccines. Please complete an online application at www.rescueahart.org if you'd like to her. Thanks!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tessa, a Cincinnati Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Cincinnati, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Cincinnati.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cincinnati already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cincinnati breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cincinnati paves the way for another one to be saved.
