Van's Story...
I came to AWLMC from the Montgomery County Humane Society. I was adopted in 2011, but was returned because my family is moving overseas and was unable to take me with them. I am a handsome mostly all white cat with brown patches on my body. I have one particular patch between my shoulder blades that looks like a heart. I like to think it means I am super sweetheart! I am a sweet boy that loves attention and will jump right in your lap for some love. I am a fairly laid back guy. I try not to let things bother me too much. I love people and most other cats. I am curious and like to explore everything. I also love to play and run around with my friends at the shelter. I have had a lot happen in my life in the last few years and am ready to find my forever home to settle in to permanently. I was born in 2009.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Van, a Gaithersburg Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Gaithersburg, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Gaithersburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gaithersburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gaithersburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gaithersburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
