My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ben is the most adorable 17.5 pound boy! He was an outdoor dog whom was left on a chain. At one time he lived in a home, then he was stuck outside. How anyone could leave him tied outside to a dog coop all day and night is really incredible to believe. He is a sweet, bouncy, playful 3 year old boy. When he was delivered to us, there were several older children at the rescue and they took turns walking Ben on a leash – he LOVED the kids! He is playful with toys and will playfully nip, although the foster is working to stop that behavior. On the ride home, he was a perfect gentleman in his crate in the back of the foster’s car. He just laid down in his crate and didn’t make a peep for the 25 minute ride to the foster’s home. Upon arrival to the foster’s home, Ben was taken out of the car and crate and he met the foster’s dog in the backyard. They sniffed each other, politely, and act as if they’ve known each other all their lives – they get along great. He walks very well on a leash and he seems to be housebroken, no accidents so far, he’s done all his business outside. He does seem familiar being indoors and has no problem with stairs. He comes when he’s called and he loves to be in your lap and next to you to give kisses. Ben is just a little doll! We will provide updates once Ben has time to settle in and we can discover more about him. UPDATE: Benny’s first night at the foster’s was a dream literally! He slept in his doggie bed in the kitchen (no crate) all night without a peep for the entire 8 hours and NO accidents. He was happy and playful ready to start his day. He went on a nice morning walk with the foster and her dog and did his business. When he came back to the house, he had a biscuit and a carrot and he settled down for the morning on the porch while we read the Sunday papers! What a good boy! If interested in adopting, please complete and submit an application.

This animal is currently fostered in a private home. Our rescue is 100% foster home based. We do not have a shelter or kennel. They are cared for by a loving family until adopted. Each pup has had their first vet exam, a shot, and de-worming, etc We make sure they have no fleas prior to going into our foster homes. They are fostered out of the shelter at least two weeks or more prior to adopting to monitor health. We take their care seriously!

Please note that the adoption event will take place on Sept 25th in Ridgewood, NJ. After your application is approved, we will contact you and arrange for you to meet the dog on that date. Once adopted, feel free to change the dog's name. You do not have to keep the name listed in this post.
