Nixon's Story...
Nixon is a nice young black and silver/tan male ~ 18 months of age. He is friendly and seems to get along well with other dogs. We are not sure yet how he is with cats. Nixon was rescued by a good Samaritan that found him underneath an interstate bridge. Efforts were made to locate an owner without success.

Oh, Nixon got his name because he has a crooked tail!

This dog is crate trained, spayed or neutered, up to date on shots and HW negative. Adoption application, home visit, and $250 adoption fee are required. Please read our adoption requirements on our home page.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nixon, a Pike Road German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Pike Road, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Pike Road.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Pike Road already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Pike Road breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Pike Road paves the way for another one to be saved.
