My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Maddie is a beautiful, happy, gentle, sweet, loving, playful, sweetheart of a two-year-old, 47-pound, female, white and brindle pit bull terrier-mix looking for a loving guardian. Maddie is a delightful, good-natured, lovable dog who gets along with other dogs, and people of all ages including children. She’s living in a foster home where she has proven herself housebroken, crate-trained, and she sleeps in bed with her foster family. She loves toys and fetching tennis balls, and she knows commands sit and sit pretty and takes treats gently from your fingers. She’s just the perfect little dog. Sadly she landed at Chicago Animal Control in May after being thrown out of a car in a parking lot. The driver sped off. Little Maddie was emaciated, had cigarette burn marks all over her body and face, fractured teeth and part of her ear had been cut off with a scissors. She was lucky to have a foster home to recover in and receive the TLC she deserved. Despite the horrible way she had been treated in the past, she continued to love everyone – other dogs, children … just everyone and everything. Four months later, Maddie is now healed and healthy; spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, de-wormed and heartworm-tested. If you are interested in adopting this very special girl, please contact her foster mom Anna at bullylove22@yahoo.com or 708-351-8091. Her adoption fee of $95 benefits the Friends of Chicago Animal Care & Control. That small adoption fee doesn’t begin to cover all her vetting. If you’d like to help support dogs like Maddie, please consider attending the Big Night event this Wednesday, September 14th, or making a donation in her honor at http://www.fcacc.org
