Colin's Story...
Colin is a very sweet and loving boy. He loves to be with people and is your typical rat terrier...he loves to micro-manage all other dogs—so some of his friends even like to call him "Sir Colin." He collects all of the toys for himself in a pile...cute to see. He is great on leash, enjoys long walks, rides in the car really well. He would do best in a home where is the only dog because he doesn't like to share the attention given. Colin is up to date on all vaccines, preventatives and neutered.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Colin, a Alexandria Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Alexandria, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Alexandria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Alexandria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Alexandria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Alexandria paves the way for another one to be saved.
