My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Ruby Tuesday. Mom named me that because I rock like the Rolling Stones; and since I was a stray, she thought the lyrics fit me: "She would never say where she came from." I am a petite 13-inch girl, about 20 lbs. I live with 3 beagle girls, Yorkie sister and brother; 2 kitties and we all get along great. I would like another friend to play with (2 or 4 legged is fine). I don't bother anyone; if they don't want to play, I am perfectly happy chilling on the couch. I don't have to be right by your side, but I really do feel I need to sleep in bed with you or at least be in the same room. Sometimes I like to sleep all the way under the covers all covered up. If you don't want me to do that, its okay, just as long as I know you are in the same room, a dog bed would be just fine. I love to be outside in the nice breeze on the deck. I'm okay out there all by myself if you are home, but I do need to be checked on. I'll let you know when I want to come in. I mind well. I wait very nicely for my food or a treat. I don't try to eat the other girls food, I wait and if there is any left over, well, then its fair game! I am working on "wait" and "get back" when outside doors and gates are opened. As soon as I see you heading for the door, my nose is there before your feet are. I really have to be kept back and a baby gate won't work, I'll jump that. It would be best to have a secure fenced in yard to keep me safe, remember, when snow piles up along the fences they are easier to jump! I am a very good girl at telling you I need to go outside. I will come to you and look at you intensely and look at the door or just go to the door, I don't whine. If I am left home alone, at first I will probably need to be in a comfy crate. I cry a little at first, but I settle down. The only naughty thing I have done is grabbed at the blinds of a window, but that’s because I wanted to see if mom was home yet. She usually leaves me out of the crate if she is just gone for a little bit; blinds pulled up :). I love balls, I can even go find it and get it for you if you ask me to. In a car I need to learn I can't hang my head out the window; mom buckles my leash in the car. I love to go for walks, a snugly fitted harness is best for me as I do a pull a bit at first. The only time you really hear me is when you leave, I want to play, or the other dogs bark. I would rather have older kids to play with as long as they watch the doors when they open them. Can you tell that is mom's biggest worry? Cuz that’s how she thinks I ended up running away in the first place. She knows she'll have to sing the rest of the song and say Goodbye Ruby Tuesday, but she knows whoever chooses me will be very happy they did and wants me to get all the love and attention I deserve!
