Max's Story...
This is Max, a very special boy with a regular name but an extraordinary story! Max was brought into the Department of Animal Services to be euthanized. Someone had tied him to the bumper of their car and "forgotten" that he was there when they drove off. Though Max was in agony, with nearly a third of his skin severely abraded and with massive trauma to his front legs, when he was removed from his crate for euthanasia, he gently head butted the technician's hand and began to purr. Recognizing Max's incredible spirit and amazed at his capacity to still seek and give love, Animal Services called FOCAS and shared his story. Not sure whether the kitten would survive his terrible injuries, we rescued Max in an effort to give him the best shot at recovery possible. It is now 2 1/2 months later and Max has made a full recovery! He is now just like any other kitten and the only tell-tale sign of his terrible ordeal is his scarred eyelid, which we believe makes him that much cuter! Max is an energetic, running, playing, purring machine, just ready and waiting to make up for his lost kitten hood in a new home where he can be loved and adored as he deserves. If you're ready to adopt the most inspirational kitten FOCAS has ever met, please fill out an online application on our website at Introductions will be scheduled once your online application has been received. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Max, a San Diego Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in San Diego, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in San Diego.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Diego already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Diego breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Diego paves the way for another one to be saved.
