Raven's Info...

I am already spayed.
We are honored to introduce her royal highness, Raven! Raven is our resident self-proclaimed “Queen of the Cat Haven” and we wouldn’t have it any other way. This vocal, somewhat bossy sweetie-pie fits the royal profile to a tee. The only thing missing is a diamond tiara upon her head and with her solid black silky coat one would look absolutely fantastic. Anyone got one lying around? Her slightly plump size is perfect for holding her equally larger than life personality. Ms. Prima-Donna Raven is fit to be tied if you don’t give her the attention she knows she deserves and has no problem jumping up on a chosen lap to get some. The problem is getting her off once she claims her lap throne! The other cats here know she rules the roost and if they forget she’s quick to remind them with a royal yowl and swipe of the paw. Raven would probably prefer a fur-ever home where she’s the only cat to spoil but could live with other cats as long as they acknowledge her as the supreme ruler of the house. Aside from her queen-like attitude, Raven is very social, lovable and never, ever boring. She would make an ideal companion for any household seeking an air of royalty whether they realize it or not. Raven is spayed, vaccinated, tested neg. for FeLuk/FIV and micro-chipped. Call soon to schedule a meeting; we are sure Raven will grant you a most royal welcome. 734 461-9458

FMAR is a non-profit 501(c)3 rescue for dogs and cats that started in April 2003 with the help and support of hundreds of wonderful people. Our mission is to protect animals and residents by promoting a healthy and safe enviornment for all. FMAR felt we needed to start in our own community helping our Animal Control facility find homes for the strays they pick up or are brought to them. On a rare occassion when we have extra space we do our best to help out neighboring communities too. We started in the family room of our home, adding kennels under and on the pool table and moving to the dining and livingroom. We grew by leaps and bounds, so we sold our home, bought a 61/2 acre farm and renovated the smaller of the 2 barns with 9 dog kennels and 5 unique cat kennels. Our first renovation allowed us to house a larger number of cats and dogs, but the need grew faster than our space would allow. We are amazed and saddened every day by the abundance of homeless pets and hoped to raise enough money to renovate our larger barn, but the need became so great we knew we had to find something smaller that we could better afford to renovate. We added on again but the space was still not enough. We found someone to donate another barn and had this barn moved to our property and renovated it as our new "Cat Haven".
Please visit our website at www.fmar1.org for more details on our growth and progress. We promise the best is yet to come!!

FMAR is an no-kill 501 C 3 tax-exempt all breed rescue, and like you, we are concerned about the welfare of the animals and the families that adopt them. We will require paperwork to be filled out and a consultation before an animal is adopted. Interaction with any other animals in your care is also required. We reserve the right to deny any adoption that we feel is not safe or comfortable for either the animal or potential adopter.
Our adoption costs vary, and include first set of vaccinations and spay/neuter. Cats and kittens start at $75 and dogs and puppies range from $100 - $175 depending on age, size and breed. We also offer micro chips at a very reasonable rate. For more information please send us an email at:

FMAR serves Belleville, Sumpter Township, Ypsilanti and surrounding areas.
