Bernard's Story...
Bernard is an adorable little butterball with personality plus to boot! And yes, it does look like he is having a permanent "bad hair" day! On August 9th I got a call about 10 newborn orphaned pups. I had a mom dog who had some milk to spare and that is how Bernard and his siblings were rescued! We also rescued the father of litter - Jake, who can also be seen on our website if you would like a bit of a reference as to what Bernard may look like as an adult. The pups are primarily Labrador Retriever/Border Collie mixes. They have been a delight to have around and to watch grow. Bernard is good with other dogs and with small children. He is a smart little guy who has been using a dog door since he was just 4 weeks old. Of course he is still to young to be house-broken, but I don't think it will take him long to learn. Bernard's adoption fee is $200 and that includes de-worming, neuter, microchip and series of puppy vaccinations. If you are interested in meeting Bernard, please contact Delon.Washo@asu.edu or 602-295-4518.

AZ Prussian Snailhound Dog Rescue would like to remind everyone that puppies are a big commitment and require a lot of attention. Puppies often exhibit undesirable behaviors such as chewing and digging. Of course they also are a lot of fun and are very lovable too. When choosing a puppy please consider how much time you will be able to spend training and socializing your new puppy.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bernard, a Phoenix Labrador Retriever/Border Collie puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Border Collie for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Border Collie puppy from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Border Collie breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
