Ollie's Story...
Hi, I'm Ollie! I'm a Maltese and I'm about 4-5 years old. Some nice people found me running down the highway and picked me up before I got hit by a car. I was so scared, but they took me to the veterinarian to see if he could help. They looked all over for my family, but it seems that they no longer want me, so he contacted the nice people at Pick Me! and they took me in. I have a cataract in one eye, but it isn't causing me any problems and I have a luxating patella on my back leg, but I run around and play just fine, and I love other dogs. I'm currently getting ready to be neutered and have all of my vaccines updated, they say I'll get a cute little haircut soon too. I can't wait; my foster mom says she'll put up pictures as soon as she can so that people can see how beautiful I am. My adoption donation is $200.00. If you'd like to apply for me please contact petadopt@hotmail.com and she will send you an application. I can't wait to meet you :)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ollie, a Palm Harbor Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese for sale in Palm Harbor, or seeking a Maltese dog from a breeder in Palm Harbor.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Palm Harbor already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Palm Harbor breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese breeders who help with Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Palm Harbor paves the way for another one to be saved.
