My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please note: Water Girl needs a forever family who lives in a ranch style home -- one without steps.

This is for the comfort of her shoulders. When I came to Colorado my name was Water Girl but my Foster Mom has been calling me "Ellie" and I respond to that much better and come when called. I'm told that I am 3 years old and I was a breeder dog so I have had many puppies.

I love Colorado. . I love being in a house and being able to lay on the soft carpet and being in a yard that has grass to roll on. I don't go up and down stairs as quickly as my foster brother and sister but I am learning. I have learned to go in and out the dog door but I'd rather go out when my foster mom is with me. We are learning something called "commands" and I am beginning to understand. My foster mom tries to give me a treat when I sit but I'd rather have hugs and kisses. From the first night here I got to sleep in my mom's bedroom and slept right next to her on the floor. This morning I had to go potty so I scratched gently on the door and she got up and we went outside for me to do my business. My mom says I am doing remarkably well with house training and understand that I don't potty in the house. I just love to lay by my foster brother to take naps and I know that this is a "no barking" house so I don't do that. I am still a bit shy but love attention from my foster mom. I let her brush me and even let her brush my teeth.. . yum. .peanut butter toothpaste.

I would like a forever family that has a lot of patience because there is still so much for me to learn and I'd like a family where someone is home during the day so I can keep them company.
