Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Carmelita is a pretty little 20-something buckskin dun mare that arrived at All About Equine Animal Rescue on May 12, 2011. She was rescued off of a feedlot, and she was in an absolutely horrible condition. She was malnourished/emaciated; her hooves and teeth had clearly been neglected for a long time; the angles of her hoof walls weren’t supporting her weight properly, and she was standing on her soles since they extended beyond her hoof walls; her teeth were is very poor condition, so much so that it was difficult for her to eat; and her coat was dull, matted, and hair pulled out in thick clumps. She was certainly a sight for sore eyes.
Despite all of those physical issues, Carmelita is an incredibly sweet little mare. She’s mild mannered and has such a kind soul. It seems she'll make a nice little youth mount for light riding, leadline, or walk/trot. Carmelita stands about 14.2H.
Since her arrival at AAE, Carmelita’s health has improved significantly – she’s gained weight and filled out, becoming a nice, thick, stocky mare; her hooves have improved considerably; her teeth were power floated, but a few needed extraction; and her coat has a healthy sheen to it now. She would love so much to have a kind, loving forever family to adopt her and love her forever. Child friendly, she’d be good for almost anyone, provided she has only a light job. She’s truly a wonderful horse that anyone would be lucky to have.
