Syd's Story...
Syd has come back to NEPR, not because of anything he could help. His owner passed away suddenly during the holidays. He was so loved by his owner and was devastated when he passed on. We have taken back to his foster home and will be finding him a loving home to ease his sadness. Syd is a perfect gentleman who loves human affection. He is perfectly healthy now but will need some extra attention to his legs. He has some stiffness that is easily helped with some canine massage techniques and TLC. Meet Syd, another great boy around 4yo found as a stray. The wonderful Deleware Valley Humane Society took him in until we could move him to a foster home. The volunteers there have told us that he was such a wonderful boy and it was a pleasure caring for him until NEPR could take him in. They also vaccinated him and de-wormed him. He is extremely thin at only 84lbs since he was living off anything he could find to eat, we believe this was mostly road kill. You can see all of his ribs and a healthy weight should be over 100lbs. Syd will need to be in foster care for tons of TLC until he is healthy enough to be neutered. He will spend his upcoming days relaxing with his 3 foster siblings and slowly gaining his weight back. We are told that he is very mellow and sweet. He has been around all sorts of farm critters and did not mind at all. Syd is just very grateful to be in a warm loving home. If you would like to donate to Syd's foster care needs please use our paypal donate button! We will keep you posted on his progress until he can go to a forever home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Syd, a Lee Great Pyrenees dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Pyrenees for sale in Lee, or seeking a Great Pyrenees dog from a breeder in Lee.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lee already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lee breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Pyrenees breeders who help with Great Pyrenees rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lee paves the way for another one to be saved.
