My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Fancy and siblings are a Stop the Cycle litter; Forget Me Not will spay the mother and father dogs, and find these cuties new homes. They were born 7/6, and are a blend of super energetic and smart breeds. Mama dog is a border collie/heeler mix, and papa dog is a mini Australian shepherd/border collie mix.

Fancy, the girl, has more of the border collie look, right down to the cute little white tip on the end of her tail. She is the leader of the pack, and will be both stubborn and VERY smart - she will benefit from having a "job" to do, whether it is running a backyard agility course, or learning to pick up her own toys. The boys really enjoy belly rubs, but Fancy doesn't want to be on her back for anything - she will need a strong pack leader to show her she's not in charge!

All of these pups are affectionate, happy pups; they play hard, then nap hard (ha). They are incredibly cute, but please do your breed research before applying to adopt one of them; they are NOT good apartment dogs, and will want lots of interactive time with their people, and lots of room to run. As puppies, they should be easy to introduce to all sorts of other animals, but their instincts may kick in and cause them to "herd" your cats or chickens - this can be channelled into useful behavior, too!

Puppies require a lot of human interaction, and all puppies will benefit from obedience training and full immersion in their human household. These pups' ideal homes will have someone who can exercise them with a couple of energetic walks each day, plus commitment to training them how to be the best dogs they can be. They hope to have very few hours per day when they will be without the companionship of a human or other pet. They will reward their forever owners with boundless love and loyalty! We start all puppies on their vaccinations as soon as they arrive at the shelter (this litter will have had 1 or 2 vaccinations before they are ready to go home); most will require additional boosters in the first couple of months after arriving in their new homes, and rabies vaccination between 4-6 months of age. They will be spayed/neutered and ready to go home 9/29 or later.

Spay/neuter, worming, and all age-appropriate shots are always completed before placement, and are included in the adoption donation (suggested minimum $95; more gratefully accepted!) Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to both the Seattle area and Spokane, delivering adopted pets to their new owners.
