My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Nelson is approximately 5 years old and is a neutered male Dogue de Bordeaux Mastiff. Nelson needs to find a home with adults only or maybe with older children. He was rescued from a local pound. He was starving and in bad physical condition, including being positive for heartworm. He has been treated for heartworm and has been residing with some people who have a dog training business. He is a big goofy dog that loves attention from people and he loves going for rides in the car. He is fine with other dogs and cats. He can get grumpy if he is bothered while sleeping and also when told to go into a crate but he doesn’t cause any harm, he just protests.


Note: We are an all volunteer organization and will not respond to brief e-mail requests for more information about a dog. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out and submit our online application. Vet and personal references will be checked and a home visit is required.


All dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption, up to date on all vaccinations, heartworm tested, on heartworm preventative year-round, and microchipped for identification.
